Spoiler Alert: This article contains full spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen: The Culling Game Part 1 Episode 12.
Episode Overview: Yuta Takes Control of Sendai Colony

Episode 12 shifts the spotlight fully to Yuta Okkotsu, the sorcerer who just broke the Sendai Colony deadlock by defeating Dhruv. But instead of slowing down, the situation escalates immediately.
If you missed how the Sendai Colony reached this point, check out our breakdown of Episode 11.
After the fight, Yuta tells the civilians to head toward the stadium, making it a temporary safe zone. He mentions that Rika is there helping protect them, which also explains why he doesn’t immediately go all out. At the same time, he’s already aware that Ryu Ishigori and Takako Uro are watching him, waiting for an opening.
What follows is not just a fight — it’s a full three-way clash between some of the strongest players in the Culling Game.
Yuta vs Kurourushi The Cockroach Curse Battle
Just as civilians begin to move, a swarm of cockroaches floods the area. This marks the arrival of Kurourushi, a Special Grade cursed spirit.
Kurourushi fights like a living infestation:
- It controls massive swarms of cockroaches
- Uses the Festering Life Sword, which infects targets with cursed energy like a parasite
- Can reproduce through parthenogenesis, allowing it to come back even after being killed
Yuta initially holds back. He avoids using the Reverse Cursed Technique to prevent revealing his abilities to the other players watching from a distance.
But once Kurourushi infects him, Yuta switches instantly.
In one of the most shocking moments of the episode, Yuta gets close and destroys Kurourushi using Reverse Cursed Technique output, channeling it directly through his mouth. It looks disturbing, almost like he’s biting into the curse, but what’s really happening is him erasing it from the inside.
Even then, the threat isn’t over — because Kurourushi has already set up its return.
Yuta vs Takako Uro The Sky Manipulator Battle
Right after Kurourushi is taken down, Takako Uro appears and immediately calls out Yuta for using the Reverse Cursed Technique. She does not hesitate and attacks right away.
Uro fights using space itself as her weapon:
- She treats the sky like a physical surface
- She bends and distorts space to redirect attacks
- She can make direct hits miss by warping the space around her
Her technique, Thin Ice Breaker, takes this further by shattering the distorted space and dealing heavy damage in an unpredictable way.
Yuta quickly realizes this is not a normal fight. His attacks are being twisted away, forcing him to adjust instead of overpowering.
As the battle moves into the air, it becomes a fight of precision and adaptation rather than brute strength.
Yuta vs Ryu Ishigori The King of Cursed Energy Output
As Yuta and Uro clash mid-air, Ryu Ishigori joins the fight, firing his signature Granite Blast.
Ryu fights with pure destructive power:
- He has an overwhelming cursed energy output
- He fires Granite Blast like a cannon
- His attacks are direct, heavy, and relentless
Unlike Uro, Ryu does not rely on tricks or manipulation. Every move is meant to overpower whatever is in front of him. His signature attack, Granite Blast, is a massive burst of cursed energy fired like a cannon, capable of blasting through anything in its path.
Yuta is now forced to deal with two completely different threats at once. One distorts space and avoids damage, while the other blasts through everything without holding back.
At this point, the fight becomes a chaotic three-way battle. No one is teaming up. Everyone is attacking whoever is in front of them, making every moment unpredictable.
Yuta’s Strategy – Holding Back While Protecting Civilians

Even with Rika guarding the stadium, Yuta realizes Ryu’s Granite Blast poses too much risk. If the fight drags on, civilians could still be at risk. Instead of staying defensive, Yuta realizes he needs to take control of the battlefield and decides that Ryu, with his overwhelming output, is the bigger immediate threat he has to deal with first.
He moves in to clash directly with Ryu, aiming to shut down his raw power early. But before he can gain any real momentum, Uro suddenly intercepts and lands Thin Ice Breaker, completely disrupting his approach and proving just how unpredictable the fight has become.
Rika Returns – The True Power of Yuta Okkotsu
With both opponents proving too strong, Yuta finally stops holding back. He puts on the ring and fully connects with Rika.
This version of Rika is not the same as in Jujutsu Kaisen 0:
- The original Rika Orimoto has already passed on
- What remains is a manifestation of Yuta’s cursed technique
- It acts as a storage of cursed energy, weapons, and copied abilities
For five minutes, Yuta gains full access to:
- Massive cursed energy reserves
- Stored cursed techniques
- External support in battle
This is where the fight shifts completely.
Yuta Uses Cursed Speech for the first time

For the first time, Yuta activates Cursed Speech against Takako Uro, immobilizing her briefly. This ability forces Uro into a defensive position, giving Yuta a crucial opening.
This moment is significant — it’s the first time we see Yuta using Cursed Speech in battle, showing his adaptability and willingness to experiment mid-fight. With Rika’s support, his close combat skills are amplified, allowing him to hold his ground even against a powerful opponent like Uro.
The battle between Yuta, Uro, and Ryu escalates into a full three-way clash. No one is holding back, and everyone attacks whoever is closest, creating a chaotic and intense battlefield.
Yuta vs Uro Using Dhruv’s Technique
Yuta then copies Dhruv’s Technique, a cursed ability that creates invisible cutting paths capable of slicing anything that crosses them. This allows Yuta to target Uro while maintaining some distance, giving him a new way to control the fight.
With this technique, Yuta can cut through Uro’s defensive space manipulations, forcing her to constantly react and defend. The combination of Dhruv’s Technique and Cursed Speech shows Yuta’s versatility and strategic thinking, turning the tide of the battle momentarily in his favor.
The Three-Way Domain Expansion Clash

After an intense back-and-forth, all three fighters attempt to activate Domain Expansion simultaneously. This marks the first time we see Yuta, Uro, and Ryu clash at their maximum power.
However, the domains cannot stabilize. Kurourushi, having completed parthenogenesis before going dormant, interferes with the battlefield’s balance, causing all three domains to collapse instantly. This shows just how unpredictable a three-way Domain battle can be when an outside factor disrupts it.
At that moment, Kurourushi returns, proving it had already reproduced. Even after Yuta, Uro, and Ryu unleash their full power, the cursed spirit approaches the battlefield again, unstoppable and ready to fight.
Final Phase – Yuta vs Ryu
After the chaos, the fight narrows down. Uro is taken out of the fight temporarily by Ryo, and Kurourushi is eliminated again. This leaves the final clash of Yuta and Ryu.
By this point, Yuta’s five-minute connection with Rika is running out, and both fighters are visibly exhausted. But Yuta still holds one final advantage: his ability to copy techniques. He replicates Uro’s sky manipulation to redirect Ryu’s Granite Blast upward and then uses her Thin Ice Breaker against him. Once Rika disconnects, the fight reduces to raw combat — no tricks, no special abilities, just a brutal exchange of blows. In the end, Yuta finishes the fight by using Ryu’s own Granite Blast, which he had deflected to the sky earlier, turning the opponent’s power into his ultimate weapon.
Aftermath – Points and Control
Despite the intensity of the battle, Yuta doesn’t kill his opponents.
Instead:
- Ryu and Uro gave their points to Yuta
- Reaches a total of 190 points
- Secures control over the Sendai Colony
What’s Next? Season 4 and the Fights to Come
With Sendai Colony settled, the Culling Game is far from over. Season 4 promises to raise the stakes even higher, and one of the most anticipated battles is the showdown between Kinji Hakari and Hajime Kashimo.
This fight stands out because:
- Hakari’s Domain works like a gamble
- If he hits the jackpot, he gains near-infinite cursed energy temporarily
- Kashimo fights with pure killing intent and lightning-based attacks
- Fans are hyped to see Hakari’s signature dance in action
Kashimo knows he could just buy time and wait to win, but he won’t do that. You know why? Because that’s what small fries do! He attacks with full intent, relishing every second of the fight, enjoying the chaos as it unfolds. This isn’t about strategy or playing it safe — it’s nonstop action and pressure, making it one of the most anticipated showdowns of Season 4.
